Agents used a confidential informant to hire Todd Moeller, of New Jersey, and his partner Adam Vitale, 25, of Boynton Beach, to deliver the e-mails, which advertised a computer security product, court documents show. Moeller charged the informant $6,500 so that he and Vitale could buy the computer equipment to send the junk mail, court documents show. According to those documents, Moeller also struck a deal with the informant, netting him half the proceeds from the sale of the security product and a payment of $40,000 from the initial profits.
