If you received spam either claiming to be "from" spamhaus.org, or containing any link to spamhaus.org, please read this.

The Spamhaus Project blocks and terminates spammers from the Internet, therefore it's no surprize spammers hate us, just as thieves hate the police. A common practice of spammers is to "joe-job" anti-spam organizations, by sending out spam fraudulently claiming to be sent 'by' the anti-spam organization. Spammers hope this way to dupe people into harassing anti-spam organizations such as Spamhaus by flooding us with complaints.

Amongst various "joe-job" attempts in the past we have seen spam claiming to be sent 'by' spamhaus.org, spam claiming to be 'approved' by spamhaus.org, and spam containing links to www.spamhaus.org. There is even spam with a 'click here to be removed' link pointing at a spamhaus.org page which (had the spammer read it) specifically instructs users never to click remove links...

Obviously, spamhaus.org does not send spam and the paradox of "anti-spammers sending spam" can not exist, because anyone sending spam - no matter for what reason whatsoever - is very simply a spammer.
